Ahaspora Young Professionals (AYP) in Ghana, a group of young, Ghanaian professionals who have lived or been educated outside Ghana and returned home are celebrating 5 years of impact, growth and success.
As part of their 5 year celebration, Ahaspora is hosting a fundraising dinner dance on Saturday 1st October 2016 at the Best Western Hotel, Accra. The fundraising dinner is set to be a landmark event in celebrating the organization’s successes, members of the organization, and continuing in building a true Gateway to Africa.

Since Ahaspora’s inception in 2011, when twelve returnees met and decided to form an organization to support their transition to living in Ghana and create, drive, and sustain initiatives resulting in the betterment of the nation, the membership base has grown to over 1,500 extending to Ghanaians living in the diaspora, non-Ghanaians and expatriates.
With a guiding motto: Here to Matter, Ahaspora have successfully achieved many milestones in their journey thus far including, but not limited to:
Internal/External Support Network: Assisting its members in gaining access to jobs, housing, conferences, entertainment and networking opportunities
Impact & Sustainability: Launching of their Changing Mindsets Mentorship Program reaching approximately 380 high school students who are presently paired with Ahaspora mentors
Network support: Funding from the U.S. Embassy to support mentoring program
Global reach: Extending content, the platform and opportunities for their members, diasporans, corporate entities, not-for-profit organizations, academic institutions beyond Ghana
